Current leader of the federal opposition Tony Abbott, and if you believe polls, likely to be the next Prime Minister of Australia, vows to repeal section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act of 1975 if elected.
This section prohibits acts (in a public space) which are reasonable to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate another person or a group of people because of their race, colour or national or ethnic origin.
What is his reason? “It prohibits freedom”. Bullshit, it protects people’s rights and freedom.
